Rejoice Always

God has been telling me over and over again through a variety of means to REJOICE. He's been showing me just how much I have to rejoice over, even when current life circumstances or current emotions seem to say otherwise. For example...

"Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting" (Ps 106:1). We can rejoice because A) He is Lord!, B) He is good!, and C) His lovingkindness is everlasting!

"He saved them for the sake of His name, that He might make His power known" (Ps 106:8). We can rejoice because when we were His enemies, He saved us FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE! He is so much greater and bigger than us, and everything He does is for His glory, not for our own benefit, although we are abundantly blessed in Him and by Him (and for Him) in the process.

"For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good" (Ps 107:9). We can rejoice because He satisfies us...completely. And not just with fillers like whatever they put in hotdogs to make them "meat", He fills us with what is GOOD! And He is infinitely good--perfect in fact!

I love this song that David sung when they brought the ark of the covenant back among the people of Israel--a song he sung while he danced before the Lord with all his might (2 Sam 5:24) and leaped and celebrated (1 Chron 15:29). Side note before I type out the song--are we that overjoyed and excited about His presence being with us? The ark was where He dwelled among His people in the OT, but now, He dwells within us! We are His temple!! Yet another huge reason to rejoice!

"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples, sing to Him, sing praises to Him; speak of all His wonders. Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad. Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face continually. Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth, O seed of Israel His servant, sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!" (1 Chron. 16:8-13).

So, join with me in rejoicing in our awesome Lord who is on high and who is worthy of all glory, all honor, all praise, all of our lives!
