"The departed spirits tremble beneath the waters and all that inhabit them.
Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering.
He [GOD] stretches the northern skies over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing.
He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst beneath their weight.
He obscures the view of His throne, spreading His cloud over it.
He laid out the horizon on the surface of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.
The pillars that hold up the sky tremble, astounded at His rebuke.
By His power He stirred the sea, and by His understanding, He crushed Rahab.
By His breath the heavens gained their beauty; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
These are but the fringes of His ways..."
(Job 26:5-14a)
These are but the fringes of His ways. I can't get that out of my head. What an incredible God! When I think about things like the water cycle, habitats, galaxies, planets in orbit around the sun at a perfect distance from the sun, comets, nebulae, the depth and vastness of oceans, I'm in awe of our God. But then to think that those are just the fringes of His ways?! How can I come before Him flippantly or casually?! No wonder all of creation trembles before Him! And that doesn't even touch His holiness and our un-holiness!
This passage reminded me of a song, which I'll link here. May our lives reflect and worship this awesome God today!
